Business Renewal or Exit!
I am often talking to clients about the need to either renew their business or plan for succession.
This year I am practising what I preach. I have chosen to renew my business to invest and improve it for the next few years.
The past year was affected by staffing issues. In a full economy finding staff is difficult. However, we have now brought on 2 qualified accountants. One involved in delivering accounts and tax services and the other will work on new business development.
We have done much work on our website to become mobile friendly. We have also expanded the information on the services we ofer and have a blog with ideas that will be of interest to business owners.
In terms of the services we offer there are some new developments:
- We are expanding the advisory side to include profit improvement, management information development, cash flow management for struggling businesses, finding the right business structure and possibly looking at using a group structure where appropriate and team training. - We are also looking to help business owners where a corporate event could be beneficial. If you struggle to grow why not buy a similar business and scale up. If you want to exit, we can help you get the business ready and also sell it for you.
- We are introducing an offering for IT and NHS contractors that will provide a simple, easy to use service based on the FreeAgent accounting package. It will also provide business insurance at a very competitive price.
- We will be developing a range of courses for clients, initially in the area of using Cloud Accounting packages such as Quickbooks Online, Xero and FreeAgent. We will extend this into accounting principles, management accounting and credit control.
We have also invested in a new IT server that will enable our staff to work anywhere they can get online as well as sharply reducing the burden of maintaining a number of individual desktop PC’s.
